Hundreds of runners and volunteers helped make North Rotary's tenth annual fundraising event a huge success.
Galloping Gertie, a 5k, 10k, and half-marathon race across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, drew nearly 600 participants representing at least 25 states and 3 Canadian provinces.
Revenue from sponsors and runners broke records this year. All profits from the race will benefit local children through the Children's Home Society, Communities in Schools Peninsula, and FoodBackpacks4Kids
We'd like to extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who played a part in making this event a success...
  • Our District Governor, Maureen (Mo) Fitz-Roberts, who helped cheer on the runners (shown here with president Bob Anderson)
  • Club members Paul Miller, Nicole Long Roberts, and Mark Caviness, who have kept the race alive for 10 years
  • Sabrina Seher (2nd from left), the event manager
  • so many dedicated volunteers for their hard work and encouragement
  • And, especially, all the participants!  We hope to see you and your friends at Galloping Gertie 2020!
