District Governor Maureen (Mo) Fitz-Roberts shared her inspiring history with our membership during the August 20, 2019 meeting.
Mo Fitz-Roberts wanted to become a Rotarian before women were allowed in Rotary Clubs. Now the Governor of District 5020, she presides over more than 90 clubs in Victoria Island, Canada and parts of Western Washington.
Mo joined Rotary in 2002 and was a club board member within 8 months. After she became District Membership Chair two years later, District 5020 became a world leader in membership. Mo has also been District Visioning Chair and has served on multiple committees before becoming Governor.

As part of her goal is to visit all District 5020 clubs this year, Mo and her husband Dale spent the month of August in Western Washington. Speaking to Rotary Club of Gig Harbor North, Tacoma North and Tacoma Sunset she stressed the joy of impacting peoples’ lives through Rotary around the world and close to home.
Thank you, Mo, from Gig Harbor North and our Rotary guests. We were touched and inspired by your message.
